We're here to send genuinely skilled instructors into the field and raise the bar for the profession we love.

Mat Certified

Movement Foundations + Mat 1 + Mat 2. Aligned to national mat standards (NPCP-PMC).
Reformer Certified
$2,795 (early-list pricing available)
Movement Foundations + Reformer 1, 2 & 3. A Studio Upgrade Academy proprietary credential.
Comprehensive
$4,950 (early-list pricing available)
All twelve modules plus full practicum — Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrel, and clinical and advanced programming. NCPT-eligible.
Individual modules will also be available à la carte at $645 each for personal practice or auditing a single weekend.

Studio Upgrade Academy was built by Brittaney Fortwendel, founder of Studio Upgrade. For nearly two decades she's specialized in complex orthopedic, neurological, and post-surgical movement, with advanced training in neuromuscular assessment and in movement for chronic and complex conditions. She's already guided instructors through full comprehensive certification under the studio's mentorship; the Academy opens that depth of training to the wider field — additive to the industry, built on respected lineage, not a departure from it.
THE FIRST COHORT
The first cohort begins this October.
Training combines open-access online coursework with in-person weekends in the studio. The inaugural weekends are scheduled:
Movement Foundations — October 3–4, 2026
Mat 1 — October 17–18
Reformer 1 — October 31–November 1
Mat 2 — November 7–8
Reformer 2 — December 12–13

FAQ

Do I need experience or prior modules? None. Every pathway begins with Movement Foundations — no prerequisites, whether you're brand new or rebuilding your foundation after years of teaching.
Is this online or in person? Both. Online coursework opens the moment you enroll; the real learning happens in person during your cohort's studio weekends.
What can I do with the credential? Mat Certified aligns to national mat standards; Reformer Certified is our proprietary apparatus credential; Comprehensive is NCPT-eligible. All prepare you to teach skillfully and to support clients alongside their care teams.
Do I keep access to the materials? Yes. Your coursework and manuals are yours to keep throughout your teaching career.
